No earthquake in Beijing during Olympics - seismic experts

Three more metro, rail lines open at weekend in Beijing

The new subway Line 10, with air-conditioned and spacious compartments, will open this weekend.

Beijing to shut airport for Games opening

The airspace over the Chinese capital will be closed for about five hours during the Olympics opening ceremony August 8 as part of the security measures for the Games, Chinese media reported Thursday.

Beijing Stores to Open at Ten during Olympics

The Beijing municipal authority issued an order on Wednesday regulating 82 major department stores in the city to open at ten o’clock from July 20 to September 20 in order to ease morning traffic during the Olympic Games.

Firework Rehearsal for Olympic Opening

A firework rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics was conducted Wednesday night at the National Stadium, also called the Bird’s Nest.

Beijing-Tianjin expressway opens for traffic

TIANJIN — A new expressway linking the Olympic host city, Beijing, to its nearest co-host city, Tianjin, opened for traffic on Wednesday.
